John Gushue is a writer and retired journalist based in St. John’s, the capital city in Newfoundland and Labrador, in eastern Canada.

John worked for much of his career with CBC News, across multiple platforms. He was a digital senior producer, a television reporter, a documentary writer and producer, and guest-host of numerous radio programs. He has also been a Friday afternoon trivia guest on CBC Radio programs, most recently The Signal, for many years.

John’s career has included reporting for The Sunday Express in St. John’s, and writing for numerous freelance clients, including WebMD, Maclean’s and TIME Canada.

As a trainer, John has taught courses with CBC on digital news writing, copy editing and other subjects.
